Individual Therapy
At Seaside Behavioral Health, individual therapy is offered for adolescents and adults. A variety of therapeutic modalities are used including but not limited to: cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, acceptance commitment, client centered, mindfulness-based, relational, and solution-focused and resilience therapy.
Long-Acting Injections (LAIs)
Various older and newer antipsychotic/mood stabilizer medications are available in long-acting intramuscular injection (LAI) form which can be administered at intervals varying from every two weeks to three months depending upon the drug and the individual’s mental stability. In addition, medications that are utilized for the maintenance of recovery from alcohol and opiate addiction are available in injection form. LAIs compared with oral drugs are associated with lower rates of discontinuation, relapse, and hospitalization. Moreover, LAIs are often associated with better functioning, quality of life, and patient satisfaction due to decreased side effects. Use of LAIs can improve treatment adherence for persons with persistent mental disorders and substance abuse. The prescribers at SBH administer LAIs within the clinic which offers increased privacy and assurance that the patient is receiving the medication from someone who is knowledgeable and familiar with the drug. Please speak with your SBH provider if you are interested to see if you are a candidate for an LAI.
Medication Management
Seaside Behavioral Health offers pharmacotherapy for adolescents and adults. Our services include initial evaluations for the recommendation and initiation of treatment, routine medication maintenance and adjustment as well as administration of long-acting injections and crisis stabilization. We value patient involvement in treatment, ensuring that our patients are well-informed about treatment options. Close communication occurs between our providers and patients when medication changes are made to address improvements and/or side effects.

The providers at Seaside Behavioral Health offer telepsychiatry services. Through the HIPAA-compliant interactive video conferencing tool Doxy.me, our providers and patients are able to interact virtually using a smart phone or computer. Individuals who are interested in utilizing telepsych services must have access to adequate internet/technology services. Patients should inquire with SBH staff to determine whether this service is covered – insurances vary as to restrictions and coverage. Also utilization of telepsychiatry is at the discretion of the provider.
